Pick-up Zones 6 – 10 are clearly marked along the main building and are designated pick up areas for passengers who have pre-arranged their own transportation by car service, friend or family. It is highly recommended that all sailing passengers complete their Online Pre-Registration with the cruise line at least 5 days prior to sailing. Passengers, who do not pre-register online, may be subject to longer wait times in the check in / pre-boarding process.

Victorian Bed & Breakfast of Staten Island

The views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty are an ideal back-drop to your sail-away party. It is located a short distance from the New Jersey turnpike (exit 14A). The nice thing about using Uber or Lyft is you don’t need to call or carry around cash. Everything is done through the prospective app, even paying your driver. Cape Liberty used to be the home of a Naval Supply Depot, commissioned in 1942, and was a major repair yard for wartime vessels, Essex class aircraft carriers, and Iowa class battle ships. Follow signs to and over the George Washington Bridge.

Cape Liberty Cruise Port Waiting Area and Seating

There is a cell phone waiting lot located adjacent to terminal. Directional staff and signage will assist in getting passengers to the correct area based on travel needs. Disembarking passengers should have their customs declaration form completed and identification ready to be presented to CBP officials. Passengers will be permitted to disembark the vessel once all US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clearance and arrival services are complete.

In October 2018, Bayonne City officials selected the company SeaStreak Ferry (1986-founded as TNT Hydrolines) to provide regularly scheduled high-speed commuter ferries for the NY-NJ route. The deal included leasing ft2/6040 m2 of land at Port Jersey's Marine Terminal. As of 2023, SeaStreak Ferry has a fleet of 9 vessels (double-hulled diesel catamarans) and operates on 3 waterways (Hudson River, East River, New York Bay) linking 8 terminals. RCI's roundtrips from Bayonne NJ are operated the whole year round. During summer, Celebrity Cruises also homeports one vessel at Cape Liberty. In 2023, in Bayonne were homeported RCI's ships Oasis OTS, Anthem OTS, Liberty OTS, and Jewel OTS, as well as Celebrity Summit.

The Port's schedule 2024 listed the liners Anthem OTS, Liberty OTS, Symphony OTS, Odyssey OTS, and Celebrity Eclipse. In 2016, Cape Liberty reported a record number of handled cruise passengers - 509,306, which was 2,4% increase over 2015's 497,780 passengers. Items that were confiscated can be retrieved directly after CBP inspection area and before exiting the facility. The passenger is responsible to present their confiscated item voucher in order to retrieve their property. Large pieces of luggage are not permitted on the terminal’s escalator. Elevators are available for those passengers with large pieces of luggage.

Royal Caribbean is one of the port's primary tenants. The Cape Liberty Cruise Port is located just off the New Jersey Turnpike. The terminal is 10 miles from Newark International Airport, 30 miles from JFK Airport and 21 miles from LaGuardia. Parking is $30.00 per day (rates are subject to change by Port Authority). Taxis are available in the designated taxi lot located across from zone 10. Pick-up Zones A, B, C, D are clearly marked across from the main building and are designated pick up areas for Hotel shuttle service.

No Porter service is available for passengers participating in express walk-off and all passengers must be able to carry their own luggage from their stateroom to their planned method of transportation. At the Cape Liberty cruise port parking area major credit cards are accepted and parking availability is guaranteed. Transfer service via coach shuttle can be purchased for pre and post cruise arrangements.

In 2018 was inaugurated the ferry route connecting Bayonne with Manhattan (across Hudson River). A US$650,000 federal grant was given to the city for building of a ferry terminal. The facility is on the southern part of Military Ocean Terminal, on an artificial peninsula east of Route 440. The 1,5-acre land site (former US Navy base) was purchased in 2010 and leased for ferry docking at US$200,000 per year. Express walk-off is available upon clearance of the vessel.

Pre-purchased bus transfers are located in the bus lot directly across the street from exiting CBP. Luggage drop off zones 1-5 are located directly in front of the terminal. Passengers and their luggage should be dropped off at the same zone. The state-of-the-art Cape Liberty cruise terminal, built in partnership with Royal Caribbean and the Port Authority, was built to ensure passenger comfort and a speedy embarkation and debarkation process.

Amtrak trains come from all along the East Coast (and beyond) to Newark Penn Station. From the train station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare to get to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port. The new facility is located at Port Terminal Blvd (Bayonne waterfront), adjacent to the Tear Drop Memorial (Russia-built, 10–story sculpture). In October 2014, Royal Caribbean and NYC & NJ Port Authority dedicated a Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal for the RCI's ship Quantum OTS. The new terminal started operations on November 10, 2014. Taxi stand is located across the street from Zone 10.

All baggage, checked or personal hand carry, will be inspected and must be attended to at all times. The terminal entrance is adjacent to all luggage drop off zones. Please have all luggage properly tagged prior to arrival to the terminal as per your cruise line’s insructions. Upon arrival to the terminal building have your approved Travel and identification documents as per your cruise line’s instructions. Bayonne's Cape Liberty cruise terminal provides a gateway to exciting destinations, with its convenient location just a short distance from New York City.

Taxi rates are available with the dispatcher at the taxi stand. There is an open lot adjacent to the parking garage to accommodate vehicles with height restrictions. Porter service is available at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port. Cruise line-provided luggage tags should be affixed prior to arrival.

Two cruise lines -- Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises -- use the port, with only Royal Caribbean sailing year-round. Directly in front of the Cape Liberty Cruise Port's terminal, there are designated luggage drop-off zones. The new terminal building is adjacent to the 2004-inaugurated cruise terminal. In August 2018, NYC Ferry launched a link between Soundview (South Bronx) and Manhattan. The landing site in Bronx is at Clason Point Park (Sound View Ave's end).
